A Large Display Digital Wall Clock Review

A large display digital wall clock can have a variety of uses and applications, depending on its type and style. Some are suited for the home and others are geared toward businesses or institutions. While the common feature of the clocks is their large digits, other aspects may differ according to their intended use.

These large wall clocks will have numbers ranging from two to four inches or more to display the time, (hour and minutes), in 12- or 24-hour mode. Some display seconds also, but the digits are usually smaller. Many also display the date and day of the month, and the temperature (indoors or out) in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Some have alarms and snooze alarms and may even display the moon phase.

A more specialized large display digital clock would show the time in two or more time zones, suitable for government or military applications. Others have up or down timers which can be used to countdown events. Very precise clocks would include not only seconds, but hundredths.

Digital clocks may operate using a quartz crystal, but these types have slight fluctuations in accuracy. Auto-setting clocks are able to re-set themselves for daylight savings time. The most accurate digital clocks, however are the radio-controlled clocks, which, in the United States, pick up a signal from NIST Radio Station WWVB in Colorado. They can be electric or battery powered, or both, and use either LCD (liquid crystal display), or the bright LED (light-emitting diode).

Whatever home or business needs a person may have for this type of wall clock, there is probably one available with just the right features. They are decorative and convenient in the household and can be helpful for the visually impaired. They can also perform many useful functions in the workplace, which is exactly what anyone would want in a clock.
