The Growth of Dual Coffee Makers

There has been a big growth recently in the sale of dual coffee makers. They seem to be fast becoming the latest “must have” kitchen accessory. So although you may not have come across one of these contraptions yet, no doubt it is only a matter of time before you do.

Of course, if you are a coffee nut who not only drinks coffee all day long but also follows coffee blogs (like Coffee Pods Galore for example), then it is likely you will already know exactly what a dual cup coffee maker is. But if not, then this article will hopefully educate and enlighten you.

What is a Dual Coffee Maker?

A dual coffee maker is quite simply a coffee machine that can simultaneously produce two cups of completely different blends of coffee. Why is this useful? Well, there are countless couples out there where the husband drinks strong arabica coffee and the wife like light decaff for example (or vice versa). A dual coffee maker allows you to produce both cups at the same time.

How Does a Dual Coffee Maker Work?

It is actually a very simple design but also very ingenious. Put simply, it’s like two coffee machines in one. Typically there is one water container but two filter baskets and two hotplates on which you can put individual cups or coffee jugs, depending upon the size of the machine.

Most coffee machine manufacturers are now coming up with their own designs and models of dual coffee makers, including Braun, Kenco and various others.

In conclusion, if your significant other likes a completely different type of coffee to the blend that you like to drink, why not do yourselves both a favour and buy a dual cup coffee maker so you can share your coffee drinking experience without necessarily sharing they same coffee type?
